
Dal Maharani | How to Make Dal Maharani
Home-Made Tasty Maharani Dal is a Indian recipe. It is very famous everywhere and very simple to make. Here are the methods to make this tasty yummy maharani dal at home.
Ingredients
- 1 cup black urad dal, whole
- 3 cups water
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 and 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
- 3 and 1/2 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
- 1 cup fresh tomato puree
- 3/4 cup cream
- 1/2 tbsp garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp kasoori methi
Method to prepare in a microwave
- To make this home made tasty Maharani dal, Wash dal 4 times till you get transparent water.
- Soak overnight in warm water. Drain.
- Mix dal with 5 cups of water in a large bowl.
- Add salt.
- Microwave, covered, on HIGH for 40 minutes until the dal is cooked.
- Mash dal lightly.
- Add butter, ginger and garlic paste, chilli powder, kasoori methi and tomato puree.
- Microwave on HIGH for 6 minutes. Stir well.
- Add 1/2 cup cream.
- Microwave on 600w for another 3 minutes.
- Serve hot with the remaining cream on top.
- Sprinkle garam masala.
- Serve hot with chapatis.
In a Cooker
Ingredients
- 1 cup urad dal
- 3 cups water
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 big onion finely chopped
- Finely chopped 2 big tomatoes
- 2 and 1/2 tbsp garlic crushed
- 2 and 1/2 tbsp ginger crushed
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- 2 tbsp green chilli paste
- kasoori methi 2 tbsp
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 3/4 cup cream
- 2 tbsp garam masala
Method To Prepare In A Cooker
- Wash dal 4 times in a water till you get transparent water.
- Now, take a cooker, add dal, mustard oil, turmeric powder, salt and green chilli paste.
- Pressure it for 4 whistles.
- Now, take a pan add oil, chopped onion, crushed garlic and ginger.
- Cook it till brown.
- Now, add chopped tomatoes and cook it till tomatoes are soft and brown.
- Now put this into a cooker.
- Pressure for 1 whistle.
- Put this into a bowl.
- Sprinkle a garam masala .
- Serve hot with a cream.
- Serve with chapatis or rice.
